Call Tracking with Dynamic Numbers
In today’s digital age, call tracking largely depends on a process called “dynamic number insertion.”
Call Tracking with Dynamic Numbers
In order to attribute telephone calls to a specific online ad, key word, email or social media campaign, a tiny snippet of code is added to each website on which an online visitor will encounter a company’s telephone numbers. CallSource maintains a pool of local or toll-free call tracking numbers for each such site. Numbers from this pool instantly replace the company’s regular website telephone numbers whenever a visitor arrives. This is why such call tracking numbers are called “dynamic numbers.” CallSource provides different numbers to each visitor who lands on the page. A consumer call to a dynamic number during the web session in which that number is displayed (or within a defined time after the session ends) is thereby attributed to its source.

Because the customer journey frequently involves multiple media and visits to multiple domains, online lead tacking requires more than just call tracking – even with dynamic numbers. CallSource employs a unique process for tracking online traffic, both cross-domain and cross-device. When combined with call tracking, this process provides realtime attribution of every call, chat, text, and webform submission.
